Loads of Christmas pop music radio stations are back for the 2018 festive period. It's easy just to switch on your DAB digital radio for a curated list of the most popular seasonal tracks, without having to fuss about with making playlists on your smartphone.

Eager to ramp up the Christmas spirit for 2018, many Christmas radio stations are already available online, providing nonstop tunes around-the-clock to help you with festive preparations. With many stations ditching adverts for nonstop pop, you're guaranteed an uninterrupted listen around the table.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will have already noticed that Heart Extra Xmas up and running with seasonal Christmas pop and rock songs with that festive feel and is already in your station list. As ever, The Wave Christmas, Signal Christmas and Pulse Christmas all launch on local DAB digital radio on Friday 16th November 2018 across South-West Wales, Stoke & Staffordshire and Bradford & Huddersfield respectively. You can typically hear them testing online a few days before launch on digital radio.

Swansea's The Wave Christmas curates 'round-the-clock seasonal pop and Christmas rock in stereo on DAB digital radio in and around the Swansea Bay region.

Similarly, in Stoke-on-Trent, Signal Christmas celebrates the festive season , playing your favourite, familiar Christmas tunes in stereo all day long.

Bradford & Huddersfield DAB radio listeners can tune in to their very own Pulse Christmas, broadcasting in stereo throughout the season, ending on Boxing night, 26th December.

If you can get local stations The Wave, Pulse 1 & 2 or Signal 1 & 2 on your DAB digital radio, look for these extra stations - Pulse Xmas, Wave Xmas, Signal Xmas - on your DAB station list, by tuning to them first and looking for these special xmas editions in your DAB station list. You can also retune your DAB digital radio if you're having problems seeing the stations in your list. You can also listen online to these xmas stations by clicking on the station logos and then following the listen live links (try an alternative browser if no sound plays).

There are also a number of other stations that don't have a broadcast frequency on FM for Christmas. Instead, you can listen online to the Christmas tunes they are playing.

Sister streaming stations Radiowave Christmas, Signal 107 Christmas, Wish FM Christmas, Wire FM Christmas, Peak FM Christmas, Tower FM Christmas and U105 Christmas are all due to begin streaming on 16th November, with possible testing a few days before.

What's this, though? A further number of xmas online-only radio stations are launching alongside their FM counterparts:

Running until 31st December 2018, Cornwall's radio listeners can find Pirate FM Christmas online, whilst in Dorset, Wessex FM Christmas takes the reigns. Mix [96] Christmas provides Christmas cheer for Aylesbury listeners, Eagle Christmas for listeners of Eagle Radio in Surrey, KLFM Christmas for lovers of Christmas and KLFM in west Norfolk, with Yorkshire Coast Radio Christmas choking on a full Christmas mouthful, alongside Spire FM Christmas for those in and around Salisbury, Stray FM Christmas for Harrogate listeners and, finally, an abundance of Christmas Spirit in West Sussex, from Spirit FM.

A recent addition to the above lineup is Mince Pie Non Stop Radio, from north Yorkshire's Minster FM. A festive music station playing a selection of mainstream Christmas music from the fifties to today, the popup service is available online only in 2018, running until 31st December.

United Kingdom-based Santa Radio is available to listen to online, with 24/7 Christmas tunes, celebrity messages and even a few words from Father Christmas himself! Santa Radio is back again in the UK for 2018, so give it a try.

Magic Christmas made its first appearance on DAB digital radio in 2017 on national digital radio. Look for Mag Xmas or Magic Xmas in your station list, after temporarily tuning to LBC or Capital Xtra on national digital radio. There's no official word on its launch for winter 2018, but it's worth keeping an eye out for.

To receive DAB digital radio services, you need a newer type of radio which can pick up both DAB and DAB+ digital broadcasts over the airwaves through its built-in aerial, to make sure you've a future-proofed way of listening to DAB digital radio.
