The greatest gift this Christmas... the greatest hits of all time

The last oldies station to broadcast to South Wales disappeared in early 2014, but now this void is to be filled with a brand new classic hits service Nation Gold, playing the 'greatest hits of all time', launching in late December.

From 28th December 2015, Nation Gold will broadcast on local DAB in and around Cardiff, Newport and the Valleys and also on the Mid and West Wales multiplex serving Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and the Swansea Bay region. If you can get Bridge FM or Nation Hits! on DAB, look for Nation Gold on your station list from just after midnight on 28th December 2015.

The addition of Nation Gold to the region aims to fill a gap left by Gold, which left the Cardiff and Newport multiplex in 2014. Gold recently returned to local DAB, taking the place of Xfm on many local multiplexes following a move and relaunch as Radio X on national DAB.

To receive DAB digital radio services, you need a type of radio designed to pick up digital broadcasts over the airwaves through its built-in aerial. We've links to good models on our pages, or scroll down the page for some quick links to both DAB and wi-fi receivers.
