Smooth Christmas on national DAB

A bunch of Christmas DAB radio stations is about to launch across the country, as broadcasters ramp up Christmas hits before the big day.

Running from 27th November to 27th December, Swansea's The Wave Christmas promises 'round-the-clock seasonal and Christmas hits in stereo on DAB in and around the Swansea Bay region. Similarly, in Stoke-on-Trent, Signal Christmas heralds the start of the festive season from 27th November for a month, playing Christmas tunes in stereo all day. Bradford & Huddersfield DAB radio listeners can tune in to Pulse Christmas, broadcasting in stereo throughout the season from 27th November, ending the day after Boxing Day. If you can get local stations The Wave, Pulse 1 & 2 or Signal 1 & 2 on DAB, look for these extra stations - Pulse Xmas, Wave Xmas, Signal Xmas - on your DAB station list from 27th November.

Not to be outdone, regional station Nation Radio launches its own Christmas-themed hits station Nation Xmas! in mono on the local DAB multiplexes for Cardiff, Newport and the Valleys, which is also being carried on the Mid and West Wales multiplex serving Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and the Swansea Bay region. If you can get Bridge FM or Nation Hits! on DAB, look for Nation Xmas! on your station list from midnight on 1st December.

On the local digital radio bundle serving Surrey and North Sussex, Radio Marsden Xmas joins the Marsen hospital's regular service, with Christmas output and music in mono on DAB. Tune in from 27th November until Boxing Day.

Finally, across the UK, Smooth Christmas is on-air now in mono, as the temporary replacement for Smooth Extra, is your 'Christmas connections' radio station, labelled as Smooth Xmas in your station list. Launched on 14th November and continuing until 28th December, the station promises relaxing Christmas hits from the last five decades. If you can get Absolute Radio or Classic FM on DAB, look out for Smooth Xmas in your station list.
