Storm brews up on Leicester DAB multiplex

Modern rock radio station The Storm has coming crashing onto the DAB digital radio scene in Leicester.

The local multiplex serving the area, which launched in December 2002, was to have carried classic rock station The Arrow, but station owners Chrysalis launched their dance music brand Galaxy instead. The multiplex now plays out a brand new rock station, thanks to GWR-backed station The Storm.

Birmingham's own local DAB digital radio multiplex has also undergone a new addition recently - Century Digital has appeared as a new service in the area. The station sound comes from the digital service also heard on Sky satellite radio. Century Digital also broadcasts to London.

To receive DAB digital radio stations in the UK, you need a DAB digital radio - a new type of radio that can receive digital radio broadcasts. For more information, read our guide to DAB digital radio and discover more about the tuners available to buy.
