![]() Sunday, 24th August 2003 BBC national DAB digital radio goes Strait to Dover
The Beeb has switched on a new DAB digital radio transmitter in Dover, which is now carrying the BBC's national stations, including spoken-word station BBC7 and urban music channel 1Xtra.
Listeners with a DAB digital radio in Dover and surrounding areas can now tune in to a host of new stations, which are given below.

Improved reception in and around Bromsgrove can now be found, as the BBC has also powered up a new transmitter in the Worcestershire town to bring DAB to a potential 160,000 people in the area, whilst improving reception for 50,000 more.
The introduction of two more transmitters is part of a plan by the BBC to increase DAB digital radio coverage to 85 percent of the population by the end of 2004.
Listeners with a DAB digital radio can receive the new services by performing an "Autotune" or "Autoscan" with their tuner or radio. The services now available are as follows: BBC Asian Network

BBC Radio Five Live
