Authority advertises FM licence North-West of Glasgow

Helensburgh, part of Argyll & Bute in Scotland, is hoping to have its own local radio station from next year. Applications are now being invited by the Radio Authority from parties interested in running a station to serve the area.

The new station would launch on FM to Helensburgh, which is situated North-West of Glasgow.

The Radio Authority, which regulates commercial radio within the UK, welcomes public comments and opinions about the local radio needs of the area, which should be sent to the Radio Authority's Director of Development, Holbrook House, 14 Great Queen Street, London WC2B 5DG.

The closing date for applications is 15th April 2003.
