Yeovil under no illusion as Mirage FM and 3 other stations apply for licence

The town of Yeovil in Somerset is under the local radio spotlight, with four radio operators competing to launch a brand new FM station for the area.

YDR FM's four-year quest to provide a local radio service for the area has provided the city with more than 150 roadshows and four trial broadcasts. It is hoping to win the licence with a mix of adult contemporary music and local news and information.

Yeovil Somerset radio station logos                             Mirage FM is hoping its five trial broadcasts will place it in good stead for a licence award. Pop music and local news and entertainment will feature.

Radio Investment's Ivel FM is aimed at the 25 to 64 age group, with local news and information.

Merlin FM will source its music output from the last forty years, whilst providing a local news and information service.
