More stations but few surprises as Now walks off with Peterborough digi licence

Peterborough's digital radio service will be up and running by Autumn 2002, with an ensemble that includes several new stations, including MOR and adult contemporary music station Passion and a country music service. Another new station is planned for a future launch in 2004.

City station Lite FM will launch alongside Hereward FM, Classic Gold, dance station Vibe and BBC Radio Cambridgeshire on the new multiplex.

The new multiplex will be operated by NOW Digital Limited (a subsidiary of GWR Group plc), initially for twelve years from launch. GWR Group operates Hereward FM and has shareholdings in Classic Gold Digital Limited and Vibe FM. The company submitted the only application for the digital licence.
