The coverage area of stations carried on the digital radio multiplex is due to be extended to serve parts of North Devon, with transmitters at Huntshaw Cross, Barnstaple and Okehampton. The first of these transmitters will be launched by January 2012, to provide robust 'indoor' coverage to about half (50 percent) of all households in North Devon. The latter two transmitters will be installed and switched on six months, provided that "a positive decision in 2013 [is made] by Government regarding digital switchover", which would increase the coverage to 70 percent of households. |
