This DAB/DAB+ adaptor from Ocean Digital at under £50 needs external powered speakers, so it's handy if you've a perfectly usable hi-fi system that you want to add a DAB receiver to. As well as a remote control and a clear display panel, the receiver has a single alarm, sleep and snooze settings. It's futureproofed with DAB+, meaning you can also take it abroad where DAB+ stations are broadcast.

A DAB/DAB+ model, the 1byOne DAB radio at under £50 not only features a line in socket, but also Bluetooth for wireless music connections, letting you play music through the speaker and also take any calls that might come thorough while you're listening. Two alarms and a snooze function add to the versatility of the 1byOne.

This Danish-inspired The Box DAB/DAB+ design has just five control buttons under its lid, a built-in rechargeable battery and both Bluetooth 4.0 and NFC capability for streaming music. There's a headphone socket for quiet listening. At just under £200 the IRC The Box isn't cheap, but its design is a talking point in any room.

Line in and headphone sockets around the back, the Ted Baker London Finisterre has recently had an impressive price drop to under £70. It's a DAB and DAB+ model, complete with NFC and Bluetooth. In a silver and tan finish, the Finisterre oozes style and substance.
