Now you can get better reception of BBC 6 music, 4 Extra and Five Live stations in Central London

It's all thanks to a new DAB digital radio transmitter mounted on BT Tower in England's capital city. Pumping out a healthy 800 Watts, the new transmitter vastly improves coverage of the BBC's national digi radio in Central London.

Listeners wandering around with their handheld DAB digital radio or at home with their portable will be able to pick up national digital radio stations from the BBC, such as 1Xtra, Five Live Sports Extra and the World Service. There's a full list of stations below, or check our national stations list for more in-depth info.

There'll be a new transmitter for London's second bundle of DAB stations in Summer 2012, too, which will also be fixed to BT Tower.

To get DAB digital radio, you need a DAB radio - a type of radio designed to pick up digital broadcasts through a built-in aerial. A standard FM radio cannot tune in to stations on digital radio. If you're interested in finding out more, you can see a wide range to buy right here.

Listeners with a DAB digital radio in and around the above area can receive the BBC's national services by performing an "Autotune" or "rescan" with their DAB radio. The stations the BBC are broadcasting nationally are:
